Covid-19 guidance for employers – 6 June 2020

7 June 2020

It’s been an interesting week following the announcement on Friday 29th May 2020 from the Chancellor Rishi Sunak regarding the extension to the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS). It was important to get greater clarity before publishing this latest bulletin as a number of scenarios have come to light this week.

This update features information on:

  • The extension of the CJRS, and information on the two different schemes available.
  • The most recent criteria to allow employers to claim the money back from HMRC.
  • How the rules apply in a range of relevant scenarios.
  • Updated information on facemasks and health and safety guidance on Covid-19 risk assessments.

Based on the current information, this is the best guidance we have.

We have also created an updated document that you can use to notify employees that they are being placed on furlough. This document is available to download here.
