Senior Accountant/Client Manager

£30,000-£35,000 depending on experience
Permanent/full time 36.5 hrs per week

We are looking to recruit a Senior Accountant / Client Manager in Sunderland on behalf of a client. They are a fast-growing, tech-savvy, fully digital accountancy firm and are on the lookout for people who are passionate about the power of technology and apps. The successful candidate will manage a growing client base, providing expertise advice and services to high growth businesses. The Role as a Senior Accounts / Client Manager and you will be responsible for delivering services to a portfolio of diverse clients. You will be responsible for providing excellent client service and you will be an instrumental part of a growing business

Daily Tasks:

  • Manage and deliver on all statutory deadlines for your assigned client base
  • Prepare accounts and corporation tax returns
  • Review work of other team members
  • Prepare personal tax returns
  • Support clients with management accounts
  • Client training
  • Deal with client queries and HMRC queries as required
  • Team Management, managing staff resources effectively and in-line with client Priorities.
  • Manage client relationship effectively
  • Leading on key client projects
  • Managing budgets and expenditure
  • Written and verbal communication, including presentation of products, or services when needed
  • Manage and control budget and create financial forecasts where applicable
  • Create and prepare detailed reports for upper management
  • Audit financial transactions

Essential skills & experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)
  • Minimum 7 years practice experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office programs
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Polite, helpful telephone skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle difficult customers
  • Ability to work on own initiative and problem solve
  • Able to follow processes and learn new software quickly and efficiently
  • Experience with Xero and Receipt Bank
  • Experience with client management

Required experience: Minimum of 7 year’s practice experience.
